John Ford, President of the Court Watch Montgomery Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of veteran public sector and nonprofit executive, Gail Nachman, as interim Executive Director. Gail will lead our volunteer-led court monitoring and reporting organization following the departure of Executive Director, Carolyn Hoffmann, who headed Court Watch Montgomery for two years and has accepted a leadership role with another organization.

Gail Nachman is the former Executive Director of the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation. Prior to her position at the Trawick Foundation, Gail had a long career in public service with the Montgomery County government. She was the Chief Policy Officer for the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to that position she was the Director of the Bethesda Chevy Chase Regional Services Center for 14 years. Gail retired from County government in June 2004. She is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery. Gail’s volunteer activities have included the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the MidAtlantic, Washington Metro Oasis, and Court Watch Montgomery. She is also the co-founder of the Rockville chapter of Dining for Women and a former mentor for new chapter leaders.

I’m personally delighted to have someone with Gail’s leadership experience, accomplishments, and extensive knowledge of Montgomery County to guide our activities as we search for Carolyn’s successor. We also want to wish Carolyn a rousing “thank you” for her service and our very best wishes in her new role.
